Recently, we had the privilege of being invited to a deep-dive conversation with a reporter from the Wall Street Journal, representing Foshan’s manufacturing community. We didn’t shy away from the core issues facing the current global trade landscape: tariff policies and the ever-changing international market.
The backdrop of this dialogue is a reality every Foshan manufacturer is living. From raw material sourcing to product exports, tariff fluctuations are like storms on the sea, testing our navigation skills. But as I emphasized in the interview, the resilience of Foshan’s manufacturing lies precisely in its ability to adapt flexibly.
We shared a real-life case from our factory. In the face of rising costs, we didn’t simply pass on the pressure. Instead, we chose to enhance efficiency through technological upgrades and supply chain optimization. For instance, we introduced a batch of automated equipment to reduce manual labor dependency, while meticulously managing every production process to ensure product quality remains uncompromised under any circumstances.
This isn’t just our effort alone. Looking at the surrounding Foshan area, many of our peers are actively exploring diversified markets. We no longer put all our eggs in one basket, but are striving to open up emerging markets in Mid-east, Southeast Asia, South America, and even Africa. This is not only a strategy for risk diversification but also a keen capture of new opportunities in the global market.
